In the words of Wynton Marsalis\, with whom she has often performed\, “You get a singer like this once in a generation or two.” Also a composer and 2025 Carnegie Hall Perspectives Artist\, Salvant finds the connections between vaudeville\, blues\, theater\, jazz\, baroque and folkloric music.
